This industry specific 2-day training programme is aimed at the practitioner operating Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) systems for locating and mapping of underground services.  It is suitable from entry level to the more experienced surveyor or contractor.

The GPR for Utility Applications course is endorsed by the Energy and Utility Skills Register. Successful candidates can be provided with an EUSR registration virtual photocard.

This course meets all the criteria for a Proqual standalone unit award within the existing Level 4 and 5 QCF Utilities mapping framework.

The course is mapped to PAS128, HSG47, TSA guidelines and CICES competencies.

Course Details

  • 2 full day’s course
  • 1 day classroom theory plus 1 full day practical
  • Usually held at CMDC Cranfield University, however can be conducted internationally subject to prior arrangement and numbers, please call for details
  • Student numbers are limited to 8 per course to ensure a ratio of 1 tutor per 4 students
  • GPR equipment is provided, however students are welcome to bring along their own system if they wish to as long as they know how to operate the equipment
  • Register for a ProQual standalone unit award within the existing Level 4 and 5 QCF Utilities mapping framework.
